Colic is when babies cry uncontrollably for 3 or more hrs, 3 or more times a day. In some cases colic is actually reflux, gas, milk allergy, or sensitive to formula or breastmilk, which in the latter case would likely be an upset tummy from something you ate that affected your breast milk (like spicy foods, onions, garlic, tomato, dairy)
    Tips to help prevent colic:
    Burp baby well
Invest in bottles that help prevent gas
    Swaddle baby
Don’t let baby get too worked up before a feeding
    Tips to treat colic:
    Swaddle baby
    Gas drops
Hold baby belly to belly, the warmth of your body will help
    White noise sound machine

Go buy the book “The Happiest Baby on the Block” by Dr. Karp. It goes through all of these things to help a colicky and fussy baby. He uses the 5 S’s. Swaddle, Side/Stomach position, Swinging, Shushing, and Sucking. It teaches you how to properly do all of these things and apparently it works amazingly. The funny thing i when I was talking to my older cousin about this book, (she is like, that family baby sitter, loves kids, and can always calm a baby) she laughed when I explained everything, and said that she has been doing those exact same things for years, and that they always work. I would check it out if I were you! Good luck, I’m due in December as well!

    tell you good luck.
this can go on for a VERY long time. and it seems like nothing can soothe them. it depends on the bottle you use too. i use only Dr. Browns bottles and they are great. Daughter is 7 months and never had colic.

if a baby has colic you can use gripe water or colic drops to help soothe them…always wind baby properly and lots of cuddles if they do get it!!!
