Soothing a baby with colic
Well, colic is one of most common issues with babies aging between 2 to 5 months. As a result the babies are uncomfortable due to the chronic abdominal pain which they might be undergoing. Thus they will express their discomfort by crying consistently and constantly leading to sleepless nights. You must not panic in such a condition instead try some remedies to soothe your child and comfort him. It will cost you a lot of effort and patience but ultimately this will pay off leaving your child and you relieved.

The first step is not to ignore your child when he cries. He needs you the most and you must comfort him and find out the reason that is bothering him. It might be because of the reason that he might be suffering from some kind of ailment or problem. Check out if your baby is feeling hungry or you need to change the diaper.

Try to change the atmosphere of your child. Sometimes the baby wants a change in the environment and so they resort to crying. So try to divert your mind into other things and toys if your child cries. Go for a walk or give your child a car ride. These ways often work in pacifying the child.

The best way to soothe your baby is by giving him a warm water bath. This will leave him fresh. Take care that the water should not be too hot. It should be simply warm enough to relax your baby. You can use Luke warm water for this purpose.

The other technique to pacify your child is by distracting his mind. You can divert your child’s attention by providing him with colorful and musical toys. This can be done by hanging such objects over his cot. This will make him happier and stop him from crying for some time.

You can also hire a baby sitter if you feel that you are worn out at the end of the day. This is just the beginning and in such case you can seek the help of a baby sitter. A baby sitter makes tasks easier for you by singing lullabies and giving him complete attention. They are expert at handling the baby and looking after its needs.

Besides, it also depends to a great extent on the diet of the mothers. Lactating mothers should have a proper and well balanced diet. It should be ensured that the mothers don’t consume gas producing foods since this can cause problems for the child and add to his misery. So lactating mothers should ensure that they consume such foods which meet the baby’s requirements.

Last but not the least; the baby needs your love, care and affection. Nothing can be much more soothing and comfortable as a mother and father’s touch and affection. Do not neglect your baby, he needs you the most. Be supportive and caring. This will do miracles for you and heal him more than anything else.
